No. 1 • Turley, Rosé 2023 • Zinfandel • California •
Inspiration : ‘classy, not trashy’
Color : very bright, watermelon jolly rancher red/pink with and orangish hue. Clean & pristine.
Aroma : very aromatic, smells juicy, a little candy sweetness.
Taste : up front, bright candy juice to then evolve into a clean, dry southern french inspired rosé.
Big Takeaways
California winery working mostly with Zinfandel & P. Syrahs. This is their rosé of zinfandel…aka…white zin.
Upfront flavors of juicy fruits, candy sweetness to then have it finish dry and clean, reminding of a southern French rosé.
A fun bait-and-switch…in a good way. Have fun with your wine.
Hints
If you are ever ‘gifted’ Sutter Home White Zin…put it to good use catching all your fruit flies.
No. 2 • Cória, Alma de Cória Grand Reserve 2018 • Pinot Noir • Willamette Valley, Oregon •
Inspiration : ‘seirous’
Color : rich hue, royal purple, clean and pristine.
Aroma : quite aromatic, dark, juicy, brambly, woodsy with some spice like cedar and boxwood. Purple florals including violets.
Taste : dark cherries and spice, sweet spices, woodsy, tobacco and a touch of vanilla. Lengthy finish. Dances on the edge of bitter without crossing the line.
