medium body with good weight, but incredibly fresh with lanolin, cotton & sea breeze.

Don’t be afraid to age your white Rioja’s…but enjoy them young too.
No. 2 • Weingut Jürgen Leiner ‘Kalkbruch’ 2019 • Pinot Noir / Spätburgunder • Palatinate / Pfalz, Germany •
Inspiration : ‘alpine pinot’
Color : looks like a pinot with slight cloudiness the closer you get to the bottom of the bottle. Royal purple, violet with slight transparency.
Aroma : vibrant, fresh and a little funky. Slight green on the nose.
Taste : fresh cherries, blueberries, cranberries, eartiness, brambles, and freshly broken tree twig. Fully coats the mouth, with a clean finish. Touch of salenity and chalkiness.
Big Takeaways
Organic vines, village level bottle near the French boarder in Germany.
Done in neutral oak with spontaneous fermentation, no fining or filtering, so a touch of cloudiness the closer you get to the bottom.
Cool, vibrant dark fruits, cherries, blueberries and cranberries with a woodsy quality and touch of green stems.
Hints
A great red wine to pair with fish.
No. 3 • Alfredo Bertolani, Lambrusco Reggiano Rosé • Salamino + Marani • Emilia Romagna, Italy •
Inspiration : ‘berry filled barn’
Color : really pretty pink, robust rosé color. Translucent with tiny tiny bubbles…more fizz than bubbles.
Aroma : sweet and funky, with a salty fat quality, like cured meat.
Taste : bright and singing red fruits with a tart background, strawberry, cranberry, blueberry with preserves, slight barnyard and bubbles that remind of a mineral water.
Big Takeaways
50-50 split of 2 red grapes from Emilia Romagna, minimal time on skins giving it a rosé quality.
Carbonation done in auto-clave, trapping the released CO2 & forcing it back into the wine.
Very fruit forward, sweet and tart with a lovely savory edge reminding of lardons served with strawberries.
Hints
Dink more Lambrusco…get the good stuff…you wont regret it.
